Zeepeduinen

Experience the natural beauty of the Zeepeduinen, a lively dune area located to the west of Burgh-Haamstede. Admire the large dune lake in the center of the area, created by sand mining, and spot various water birds from the bird observation house along the shore. Look out for the coot, grebe, tufted duck, and little grebe that are often seen here.

As a protected natural monument since 1988, the dunes are named after the Zeelandic word "sepelen," which means to seep. Groundwater seeps from the dunes to the lower areas in the surrounding. Enjoy the peace and quiet in this unique piece of nature and take a relaxing walk through the Zeepeduinen.
