Nieuwerkerk

Nieuwerkerk is a classic village with the church as its central focal point. The village is home to 2,800 people. It excels in its amenities. In addition to a bakery and butcher, there are two large supermarkets, a hardware store, a greengrocer, a cheese shop, two flower shops, a bookstore, and a drugstore in the village. During the Watersnoodramp (North Sea flood) disaster, Nieuwerkerk was the second most severely affected village. The small village mourned 289 victims. At the cemetery on Burgemeester van Veenstraat, a artwork and all graves can be visited from sunrise to sunset.
