Visserijdagen
The opening of the mussel season is celebrated grandly every year in Bruinisse during the Visserijdagen in the third weekend of July. For three days, the village is filled with festivities and mussel eating. Each year, a Miss Visserij is presented, and the Visserijdagen conclude with a spectacular fireworks display.

Ommetje Bruinisse
This stroll takes you through the fishing village of Bruinisse. In the harbor, you'll find the trawlers, and on the quay, fresh fish is available. A great place to observe this is from the bench shaped like a mussel. Also, pay a visit to Brusea. Here, you can experience the history of the village and its fishing industry.

Natuurmonumenten
On the map of Schouwen-Duiveland on the Natuurmonumenten website, you can also find beautiful short hiking trails. One near the Plompe Tower in Koudekerke and another in the Zeepeduinen. Natuurmonumenten also indicates interesting guided nature excursions on their map.

Many of them traverse the dunes near Renesse and Burgh-Haamstede, but if you scroll further, you'll also discover many other interesting places such as the Prunjepolder, Schuddebeurs, the creek area near Ouwerkerk, or the coast near Bruinisse.
