Welcome in Schuddebeurs
During the Golden Age, numerous grand houses were built in the sandy area of Schuddebeurs, situated above Zierikzee. Beautiful parks and forests were established around them. After World War II, little remained of this beautiful area, but reconstruction began immediately.
Several of the beautiful villas from the Golden Age, such as Mon Plaisir and Weelzicht, have been preserved and are now privately inhabited. They still grace the landscape today.
Discover Schuddebeurs
Here, humans and nature coexist effortlessly. Between 2000 and 2005, the Forest of the Future was planted in Mon Plaisir. People could commemorate events (anniversaries, deaths, births) by planting a tree here for a fee. The forest is now "full," creating a magnificent sight. All in all, Schuddebeurs is a natural area well worth visiting. The forest area is freely accessible, and in the wide polder corridor behind Mon Plaisir, fishing is permitted with a license. Equestrians also have access to this area.
