Kilometers of hiking trails.
There are dunes, there are unsuspected unpaved paths cutting through farmland. There are routes where you have to cross a water body using a ferry. You can spot birds or enjoy shady paths under the trees. Equally delightful: taking a stroll around one of the villages or embarking on a historical city walk in Zierikzee. There are numerous (thematic) hiking routes. From short walks that take an hour to longer distances. But they all have one thing in common: they each showcase beautiful parts of the island.
De Meeuwenduinen
At the Meeuwenduinen, you'll discover a unique natural environment featuring young bare dunes, plains covered with moss and dune grasslands, as well as various plant species. Additionally, this area is home to rabbits and birds, including nesting black-headed gulls and herring gulls. The sound of these birds is remarkable to hear and can be quite overwhelming.
