Bellowing deer during rut on Haamstede Castle Estate
In the autumn, it's the rutting season. The male deer then go in search of females to ensure offspring. They make quite a noise in the process; we call that bellowing. You have to hear it sometime!
Enjoyment during the walk
The walk leads through the normally closed Castle Woods with centuries-old trees. We will also visit part of the Zeepeduinen (Sea Polder Dunes). A magnificent landscape to traverse. There is always something surprising to see.
