The old deciduous forest near Haamstede Castle teems with birds. Wrens, garden warblers, nuthatches, blackcaps, and many other birds ensure that it is never truly silent. And the ground crawls with life; many insects contribute to a healthy soil and live on dead wood. But also the remains of fallow deer and roe deer are part of this circle of life.…
