Rutting Deer Excursion with Lunch

During this walk through the Zeepeduinen in Zeeland, we will be looking for fallow deer in their mating season atmosphere. The males make ominous sounds during the rut; the bellowing!

We start at the ‘Even Buiten’ guesthouse with coffee/tea. From there, we are within a minute in the Zeepeduinen. We will stroll through the extensive dune area, where the guide has much to tell. After the walk through the dunes, we will also conclude back at the ‘Even Buiten’ guesthouse with a glass of wine or beer and a delicious sandwich and soup.

Bellowing Deer During Rutting Season

In the autumn, it is the rutting season. The male deer then go in search of females to ensure offspring. They make quite a noise in the process; this is called bellowing. You must hear it once!
