1. Borrendamme
On May 7, 1945, landing craft of the 47 Royal Marine Commando landed at this location as part of the liberation operations in the region. Earlier, on December 6 and 7, 1944, an attempt by 17 people to flee to liberated Noord-Beveland failed here. This led to the arrest and execution of ten resistance fighters, known as the Ten of Renesse, who were hanged in Renesse on December 10, 1944.
