1. Borrendamme
On May 7, 1945, landing craft of the 47 Royal Marine Commando landed here to liberate Schouwen-Duiveland. Earlier, on December 6 and 7, 1944, an escape attempt by 17 resistance fighters to liberated Noord-Beveland failed here, leading to the arrest and execution of ten of them, known as the Ten of Renesse.
