Sint-Lievensmonstertoren ''De Dikke Toren''
Discover the impressive Sint-Lievensmonstertoren, also known as "De Dikke Toren" (The Fat Tower), which dominates the cityscape of Zierikzee. This free-standing tower began construction in 1454 next to the accompanying Gothic church, which unfortunately burned down in 1832. Although the tower was originally planned to be about 130 meters high, construction was halted at a height of 62 meters due to the setbacks the city faced.
