Slot Moermond

Slot Moermond is a 13th-century castle located on the 45-hectare Estate Moermond. It is the third castle built on this site and contains architectural styles from various periods. The oldest part dates back to the 16th century. The estate was founded in 1229 and has had famous residents, including Jan van Renesse and Witte van Haamstede. After being destroyed by battles and the Flood Disaster of 1953, the Castle and the estate were restored and returned to their original state in 1955.
