Welcome in Noordgouwe

In Noordgouwe, you'll find a well-preserved ring village, centered around the Driekoningenkerk (Three Kings Church) from 1462. The church is built on a slightly elevated mound surrounded by a genuine moat. The moat and the trees create a delightful green oasis in the heart of the village. Take a stroll around the moat and admire the beautiful old houses of the village center, each with unique facades.

Another must-see in Noordgouwe are the "weduwenhuisjes" (widows' cottages) on the Heereweg. These five cozy white cottages were built in 1651 on the site where once stood a real castle.

On the website of Staatsbosbeheer, you'll find multiple hiking trails. You can easily explore these routes independently, but Staatsbosbeheer also regularly organizes guided walks through the nature reserves. Dates and times for these guided walks are listed in an online overview where you can also discover many beautiful viewpoints and outdoor activities.

On the map of Schouwen-Duiveland on the Natuurmonumenten website, you'll find lovely short hiking routes, including one near the Plompe Tower in Koudekerke and another in the Zeepeduinen. Natuurmonumenten also marks interesting guided nature excursions on their map when available.

Here you'll find dozens of hiking trails. Many of them traverse the dunes near Renesse and Burgh-Haamstede. If you scroll down further, you'll come across many other interesting locations such as the Prunjepolder, Schuddebeurs, the creek area near Ouwerkerk, or the coast near Bruinisse.
