Expositie “De vrede van Parijs en wat daaraan voorafging”

This year marks the 700th anniversary of the Treaty of Paris. The Treaty of Paris put an end to the long-standing conflict between the Counts of Holland and Flanders over the possession of Zeeland. This conflict reached its climax in 1304 with the siege of Zierikzee and the naval battle on the Gouwe. On March 6, 1323, the Treaty of Paris was finally sealed. Zeeland Bewestenschelde, with Middelburg as its capital, and Zeeland Beoostenschelde, with Zierikzee as its capital, were merged into one entity. The exhibition consists of various paintings, costumes, photographs, and props related to this theme.

The exhibition has been curated by the Foundation Vrienden Erfgoed Zierikzee
