After the 1953 North Sea flood, it was decided to construct the Delta Works. Thanks to these impressive waterworks, the southwest of the Netherlands is now much safer. The Delta Works consist of 13 dams and flood barriers. The construction lasted from just after the flood until 1997.

The route follows the (junction) route and discover more about the Delta Works and the surroundings. You can find the junction numbers along the route on the cycling network signs. You can start the route at any point and decide whether to cycle the route clockwise or counterclockwise. This route is 43 km long.
